SAT: An overview

SAT or Scholastic Assessment/Aptitude Test is a standardized test widely accepted to take admission in colleges mainly in the United States. The test was first started in 1962 by College Board and ever since it’s beginning the examination has undergone several changes in rules and regulations.

The test is accepted by most of the colleges in USA, Canada and in many other countries as well. Thus this test is mainly given by high school students for getting admission in colleges of their choice. However, note that getting a good SAT score isn’t enough to get admission in your dream colleges.

Generally, the colleges consider your high school grade points, your personal essays, and abstracts, academic transcripts, letter of recommendation and interviews for a complete evaluation.

The Sat test syllabus deals with topics you have learned in your high school. • SAT Subject Test: These are hour-long tests conducted based on the content of the subject. These are designed in a way to showcase the knowledge, depth, command, and achievements of a particular student in that specific subject area.
