IELTS essay topics with answers band 9
Here is an example of a good IELTS essay:
Essay Topic: Obesity is a serious problem in many countries, especially in rich countries. Discuss ways to solve the problem. Provide specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Answer:
With the rise in the popularity of fast food, w plethora of health issues have engulfed humankind, especially the younger generation. The foremost issue facing the world is obesity; especially in developed countries like the USA and the UK. After studying and analyzing the topic, I can suggest a number of ways in which the problem can be curbed to a great extent.
As the rate of development in developed countries is high, the buying power of the people is also proportionate. Thus they are exposed to a variety of fast-food chains. They get impressed and tempted to try such easily accessible foods without creating a dent in their income status. As per the survey of Americal Dietary Association, it was found that American household has a budget for food per month which is six times larger. Hence it can be stated that wealthy countries experience higher obesity rates.
However, there are numerous ways to deal with the issue. Firstly, developed country governments can convince the fast food outlets and chains to lay more emphasis on the circulation of healthy options to burgers, French fries, pizzas, and soft drinks.
Secondly, advertising and promotion of the public exercise initiatives vigorously can be very useful and helpful in this regard. Lastly, at the grass-root level, schools should start explaining about healthy food and dietary requirements. This can curb the interest of the teenagers off fast food and towards healthy binging.
Conclusion
I surely see that the situation can improve to a great extent if the above-mentioned steps are observed by the developed countries because they can set an example for the developing and under-developed countries.
