What is the duration of the IELTS exam?
The time allotted for the IELTS exam is 2 hours 45 minutes. The listening section is for 30 minutes for both Academic and IELTS general. The reading section is for 60 minutes for both General and Academic IELTS. For the Writing test, both the versions are given 1 hour for completing the task. The shorter task is for 150 words and the longer essay is for 250 words. The nature of the shorter task may differ. In General Training, the aspirants have to write a letter to someone.
