Documents Required for a US Visa
Original Passport
- Must be valid for at least 6 months.
- Should have a minimum of 3 blank pages.
- Include all old passports, if any.
DS-160 Form Confirmation
- A printout of your completed DS-160 form confirmation page.
Appointment Confirmation Letter
- Proof of your scheduled visa appointment.
- Receipt confirming payment of the visa application fee.
Recent Photographs
- Two recent colored photographs that meet US visa photo specifications.
Personal Covering Letter
- For employed individuals: Written on plain paper.
- For self-employed individuals: Written on company letterhead.
Original Bank Statement
- A recent statement covering the last 6 months.
- Must show sufficient funds.
Income Tax Returns/Form 16
- Copies for the last three years.
Supporting Financial Documents (Optional but Recommended)
- Fixed Deposits, Property Investments, Recurring Deposits, or other investment documents.
Ensure all documents are accurate, organized, and ready for submission to avoid delays in your application process.
If Employed:
- Original Leave sanctioned certificate with company seal and signature.
- Last 3 months’ salary slip.
If Self Employed:
- Business Registration License / MOA / Partnership deed.
- Company’s updated bank statement of last 6 months.

If Retired:
- PrProof of retirement like pension book, statement etc.

If Student:
- School / College / Institute ID Card.
- Bonafide certificate.
If Minor:
- Birth Certificate.
- No Objection Certificate from the parents / non-accompanying parent on Rs 100/- stamp paper.

If Visiting friend or relative:
- Invitation letter.
- Inviter’s ID proof like Passport or Resident Permit.
- Address proof like any Electricity bill, any Utility bill etc.
If Sponsored:
- Sponsorship letter.
- Sponsor’s national ID proof like Passport, PAN card or Resident permit.
- Updated bank statement of last 6 months.
- Income tax returns of the last 3 years.
For US Business Visa:
- Invitation letter from host Company stating the purpose of the trip, business details etc.
- The cover letter from the Indian company is on company letterhead.
